The impact of the EU Taxonomy and SFDR in practice

Event description
Last few years have seen major developments in the non-financial reporting space, with the adoption of the Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR), the EU taxonomy and the rise of SASB and GRI frameworks by investors.

A new European law regulation on sustainable economic activities is coming into force in January 2022. It affects the majority of European businesses and investors, with the main aim to create a classification system for what constitutes a sustainable economic activity, as it aims to help companies transition to a climate-resilient economy. The lengthy regulation includes technical standards and is to be science-based, but is often found to be confusing and complex. What are the main issues to focus on? How does it practically affect businesses and how to leverage it to one’s own advantage?

This event with taxonomy experts will help you understand and navigate the key elements of the EU taxonomy, and will aim to answer your main questions on how it may affect your company.

Main questions that we will explore include the following:

  • What is the EU taxonomy and SFDR, and what will be their impact on business?

  • How are the new regulations used by banks, investors and other market participants, and will it influence financing conditions?

  • How are companies changing their reporting to benefit from the greater focus on sustainability, such as environmental and social performance?

  • Where and how to find useful information and stay on top of the latest developments?

Speakers
We will be joined by a set of experts on the topics to provide detailed insights into the main issues and opportunities, and to explore the questions above. The event will take place online, over Zoom.
