Sustainable Investing
Overview
Sustainable investing and the integration of the Environmental, Social and Governance criteria (ESG) has been gaining a momentum over the last few years, even more so considering COVID19 challenges. Early signs show that companies with high ESG ratings have performed better during the COVID19 induced market volatility. With the EU's goal to become carbon neutral by 2050, Europe's leadership in sustainable finance is set to continue. At a time when interest rates and yields are low, this means a changing landscape for investors. Understanding the EU's Taxonomy, the Financial Stability Board's Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) and other initiatives will be key for improved performance for those working in the financial sector. The ISFC will use its Knowledge Hub and other work programmes to help build expertise on what ESG integration and streamlining means for financial sector actors, and how sustainable investing is changing. It will bring together in one place best quality thinking on the issues, providing roundups of most insightful and influential publications, and use its international expert network to deliver specialised seminars, trainings and lectures.
