ACCA International Women's Day 2023 webinar

ACCA Europe is organising an online International Women's Day 2023 event on the morning of Wednesday, 8 March 2023, which will be hosted by Ronnie Patton, ACCA’s Deputy president.

Our engaging celebration event will talk about new EU legislation that is set to Increase Gender Diversity on Company Boards, and the impact that legislation will have, whilst also focusing on how women in senior positions can transition into Board and Non-Executive Director roles.

On the 22nd of November 2022, ten years since its first proposal, the European Parliament formally adopted a new law on gender balance on corporate boards. By 30th June 2026, companies will need to have at least 40% women represented among Non-Executive Directors or 33% among all directors.
Across Europe, ACCA are proud to say we have over 35,000 women members and students, representing 55% of our footprint. We believe these women, particularly our senior members, have the necessary skills and experience to make the transition to Board and Non-Executive Director roles.
Speaking of the upcoming session, Ronnie says: “I was delighted to see that the European Parliament, had adopted the Women on Boards Directive, it marks an important step towards equity for women, in a longer journey.”

We’re inviting you to join us to hear from professional women that have made the transition; what it involves, what skills and knowledge are required, and how they got there. We’ll also hear from other speakers who have championed better representation at Board level.

Join our Keynote Speaker, Hedwige Nuyens, Chair of European Women on Boards, as she talks about the official passing of the EU Women on Boards Directive, and what it means for women in leadership positions who are looking for their first or next board roles.

We are also delighted to be joined by a remarkable line-up of expert panel speakers, who will join Ronnie Patton to talk about their experience on boards, the skills needed, what’s involved, and how to progress. Our guest panellist will include:

  • Charlotte Valeur, Founder and Chair of Board Apprentice

  • Linda Zeilina, Founder & CEO of the International Sustainable Finance Centre (ISFC)

  • Hedwige Nuyens, Chair of European Women on Boards

  • Ronnie Patton FCCA, Deputy President at ACCA

Registration details are available on the event website.
