Climate action and the accountancy profession: building a sustainable future

Climate change is undoubtedly a very current threat that we must address without delay. Very few organisations are moving at a pace to deal with the devastating and world-changing events that climate change will bring. Organisations will need to formulate their climate strategy to meet this challenge and put finance and accounting experts at its centre. They should start by focusing on identifying financially sustainable solutions to the climate situation in areas such as: business strategy, governance, accounting principles and standards, the path to decarbonisation.

The presentation of the ACCA global study on the topic: Climate action and the accountancy profession: building a sustainable future, an introductory speech by the British Ambassador to the Czech Republic Mr. Nick Archer, and an interesting panel discussion with experts and company representatives not only from the Czech Republic but also from abroad. The conference will be opened by the Director of the ACCA office, Mrs. Viera Kučerová, and the British Ambassador, Mr. Nick Archer, will introduce you to the steps taken by the British Government towards a sustainable future. There will also be a domestic view of the Ministry of the Environment of the Czech Republic, as well as an expert discussion with representatives of PwC, EP Power Europe, Veolia, as well as representatives of Colas Poland and HiM Public Affairs from Romania. For those who join us directly at the O2 Universum, the networking program awaits after the end of the official program.
