This forum masterclass will look at the practical side of the European-level legislation on sustainability, featuring the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence (CSDD). Participants should expect to takeaway some key practical learnings on their responsibilities concerning reporting and due diligence around sustainability. The CSRD takes over from what was the non-financial reporting directive meaning that basically all non-financial reporting is now called sustainability reporting. CSDD introduces due diligence requirements for company’s to mitigate their environmental and human rights impact in their value chains. The European Commission sees the two as working hand-in-hand: on the one hand, the CSRD encourages transparency; on the other, CSDD creates accountability.
