Governing Sustainable Finance in Emerging Markets

Sustainable Finance and emerging markets

How can we improve the use of ESG to support emerging market growth, while mitigating climate change effects and tackling poverty?

European University Institute’s School of Transnational Governance and Florence School of Banking & Finance is organising an online training focused on Sustainable Finance in Emerging Markets.

The four day programme will explore the following:
- the international market dynamics for sustainable finance
- identify the major trends and issues in the field of ESG and their implications for financial regulators and the institutions they regulate
- critically reflect on, and rethink, the role of financial institutions in society and their role in meeting the sustainability agenda
- understand ESG principles and standards and identify when they are violated (e.g. ESG-washing)
- evaluate and design ESG reporting tools and governance frameworks

The course will benefit from the insights of a diverse group of instructors:
- Kenneth Amaeshi, Professor of Sustainable Finance & Governance
- Pierre Schlosser, Deputy Director
- Nuru Mugambi (FKIB) Mugambi, Policy Advisor at Sustainable Finance, Responsible Investment and Financial Inclusion
- Linda Zeilina, CEO and Founder at ISFC
- Julian Toth, COO at ISFC.
