Green Bonds Issuance Workshop for cities and municipalities with London Stock Exchange

Background
We are inviting you to a unique green bond issuance workshop, co-hosted by the International Sustainable Finance Centre (ISFC), the British Embassy in Budapest and the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG).

During this special event we will cover how to list green, sustainability-linked and transition bonds on the London Stock Exchange. We will give you an overview of LSEG’s Sustainable bond market (its origin and growth) and provide examples of sovereign and sub-sovereign issuers that have accessed international capital markets through London. We will also offer insights into our ongoing industry projects.

In addition, we will talk you through recent regulatory updates that allow all sub-sovereign entities (such as regions and cities) to issue bonds as prospectus exempt issuers, what this means for the issuers and the benefits it includes.

The event will include a Q&A session, which will offer a unique opportunity to ask direct questions about how to best pursue green bond issuance and to get practical advice. It will also be possible to ask about the latest developments and practices regarding green bonds for cities and municipalities.
Opening remarks will be delivered by HM Ambassador to Slovakia, Nigel Baker OBE.
Speakers from LSEG will be
Federica Giacometti, Business Development Senior Associate, Multi-Asset Primary Markets
Elena Chimonides, Manager, Product Development

Additional experts, including a representative from a city that has issued a green bond, will be confirmed closer to the event date.
